Dr. Sally Homburger
Hi! I’m so glad you found me. I know that choosing a therapist can feel overwhelming, which is why from the start of our work together, I want you to feel like walking into therapy was more comfortable than you expected. My style is described as warm, authentic, direct, and curious.

At the core of good therapy is a mutual bond between patient and therapist. With this sort of bond, we will work together to uncover the questions you have not asked yourself before, but perhaps you have been curious about somewhere within you. Together we will collaborate to understand your past, how it influences the present, and how to help you live with more self-understanding and empowerment.
The Process
01.
I provide a free 15-minute phone consultation in order to see if I can best meet your needs. This initial conversation is to get a sense of what you are looking for, and for you and I both to decide if we might be a good fit for each other. Please note that the consultation is complimentary and can only be conducted over phone call. There is no expectation that you are committing to therapy. After we chat, should you like to schedule an initial intake session, this would be conducted over video.
02.
We will spend our first 1-2 video sessions getting a thorough history of your background (family, relationships, educational experiences, etc.) in order to best understand who you are and what brings you in. This will also help us determine where our work is headed and co-create goals for you in therapy.
03.
In most cases, therapy is a weekly commitment. In certain circumstances, biweekly might be more appropriate, but in order to get the most out of the experience, it is very important to commit to therapy much like you commit to other doctor’s appointments. Our sessions are typically between 50-55 mins over Zoom. We will come up with a plan that best suits your needs together.
